Oracle Fusion and JP Morgan: Working Capital Innovation Award

This year’s Working Capital Innovation Award is shared by Oracle Fusion and JP Morgan for an ‘out of the box’ integrated trade finance solution that reduces the time it takes to implement an supply chain finance (SCF) programme by up to six months. Judges were impressed by the huge efficiencies and cost savings available from JP Morgan Payments’ Integrated Trade Finance for Oracle Fusion ERP, which can enable buyer companies to get an SCF programme over the line within days by bypassing the need for lengthy tech projects and custom integrations.

Heavy tech burden

Supply chain finance offers multiple benefits for corporate treasurers. As well as smoothing the path for extended payment terms and a liquidity boost, it can help companies preserve supplier relationships and enjoy more resilient supply chains.

However, the time and resources needed to implement an SCF programme can be onerous. On top of the workload associated with everything from gaining buy-in from senior stakeholders to onboarding suppliers, integrating SCF solutions with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other legacy IT infrastructure can be complex, time consuming and require significant IT resources and expertise.

The solution

To help ease this burden, Oracle and JP Morgan teamed up to create their Integrated Trade Finance solution, which, embeds JP Morgan’s SCF functionalities into the AI-driven Oracle Fusion ERP software. Streamlined connectivity with the bank means companies can manage their JP Morgan SCF programme directly in Oracle Fusion.

The usual processes and benefits of SCF apply, with suppliers able to either wait for payment of their invoices on extended terms or receive early payment through JP Morgan Payments at financing rates based on the buying company’s stronger credit rating.

Set-up and management of the programme is however significantly simplified, with the solution removing many of the frictions associated with traditional SCF implementations.

Corporates can use the built-in tools, interfaces and functionalities of JP Morgan SCF through the ERP, without the need for any external compatibility layers or custom solutions. For example, they can automatically connect, send approved invoice information and view processing file acknowledgements within Oracle Fusion. They don’t have to modify their existing accounts payable processes. And suppliers have access to a platform on which to view early payment offers, with no obligation to discount.

Procurement teams can also benefit from expert advisory support on how to optimise payment terms, as well as access to a dedicated execution team that provides guidance on how best to use the solution and their new SCF programme.

Rapid uptake

Despite only being available for around six months, as of summer 2025 three large-name clients across different sectors were already actively using the solution. A number of additional clients were also in the process of implementing it.

A team effort

Judges were also impressed by the great collective effort required to get the Integrated Trade Finance solution user-ready. Teams from Oracle and JP Morgan collaborated closely to plan the scope, leveraging each other’s strengths and conducting joint workshops to define objectives, align on vision and document necessary technical development.

Once development work was complete, they subjected the solution to rigorous testing to ensure it was ready for its first user. And the firms continue working together to build and integrate new enhancements.

“JP Morgan Payments’ Integrated Trade Finance for Oracle Fusion ERP solution promises to transform how companies implement SCF programmes – a process that can be slow, complex and require major tech spend,” said Mike Hewitt, CEO of Working Capital Forum. “By identifying some of the biggest friction points in SCF and collaborating closely to eliminate them, Oracle and JP Morgan have developed a truly cutting-edge solution that will help more companies enjoy the working-capital benefits of SCF at a superior speed and cost.”
